SOIL AND WEATHER: LOCATION AS THE KEY OF GREAT COFFEE

Location. Geisha Gold Coffee farm is located in the Southwestern slopes of the Baru Volcano, in the Highlands of Panama. This area have decades in the spotlight of the coffee industry, and with good reason: the unique latitude of the land, added to the disposition of the range of mountains provide for unique micro climates where the combination of sunlight, amount of rain and the quality of the volcanic soil are the main ingredients of coffee of remarkable quality. Our farm in particular, is located between 1500 and 2400 masl. Our coffee is planted between 1600 and 1750 masl.

The farm is comprised of 9 hectares of land. Some of this land is part of the Volcan Baru Nationa Park. The park is named after the highest point in Panama, the Baru Volcano, which rises 11,400 feet above sea level. This volcano has been dormant for thousands of years, but the lava flows from this volcano have created a rugged terrain that supports a surprising variety of life zones. Temperatures generally range between 50-70 degrees Fahrenheit. The area is home to an abundance of wildlife.
