FAQs

Geisha Gold Coffee's

Frequently Asked Questions

When do I start receiving the harvest from my trees?

The farm is in early stages. We expect to start production in the last quarter of 2018.

How many pounds of coffee can I expect for each coffee tree I own?

Coffee yields depends on many natural-environmental factors, the natural capacity of the varietal (in this case, Geisha or Gesha varietal) and of course, it depends on the care the farm receives. Geisha Gold strives to take the best possible care of our Geisha trees. Under optimal conditions each tree can yield between 1/8 - 1 pound of roasted coffee. This production is managed "per owner" no matter if it is one or multiple trees.

The final product will be processed, packaged and sent to the buyer packed by default as roasted whole coffee beans.

The packaging will bear the name provided by the client in the contract, along with the Geisha Gold logo and trademarks. Shipments of the coffee bags will be done in batches according to harvest seasonality. The costs of shipment of the bags is the buyer's responsibility.

The buyer may also ask Geisha Gold to sell the production instead of receiving his or her bags of coffee. In this case, Geisha Gold will deduce the annual fee, and then send the remaining profit to the buyer. This profit will be either send to the buyer in the bank account of his/her choice, or if the buyer wishes, we can keep it to cover future maintenance fees. In the case of a bank transfer, the associated fees will be paid by the buyer.

Will my coffee be delivered to my home?

We will deliver the coffee to the address you set when purchasing the trees. If you desire to change this address please send us an email to help@geishagoldcoffee.com

Are the coffee bags I receive personalised?

Yes. All coffee bags will have your name printed along with the Geisha Gold logo and information. We retrieve the name you want in your bags from the information gathered at the moment of purchase and registration. Should you desire to change the name in the personalisation, please send us an email to help@geishagoldcoffee.com

What is the lifespan of the Geisha Gold coffee trees?

Under good care coffee trees should live between 15-25 years.

Is the yield of the coffee tree I purchased all mine?

Yes, the entire production is yours during the entire life of the tree.

Are there additional fees after I purchase the trees?

Yes, there is a 20 dollar yearly fee per tree due after we start production. This fee is used to cover harvest, processing and packaging costs of your coffee. If the buyer does not pay the annual fee, the harvest will be processed and sold in the best possible conditions of the market. The profits will be used to cover the yearly fee. If after this process there is still remaining balance, we will cover it with the next harvest. If there is profit beyond the costs of maintenance, such profit will be either send to the buyer in the bank account of his/her choice, or if the buyer wishes, we can keep it to cover future maintenance fees. In the case of a bank transfer, the associated fees will be paid by the buyer.

Can I visit the plantation anytime of the year?

Yes. Let us know in advance when you plan your visit so we can make all the necessary arrangements and schedule you a tour in the farm.

Is there any legal document involved in the purchase transaction?

Yes, there is a contract that we at Geisha Gold sign as soon as the transaction starts. That contract is then sent to you for your signature. Such contract expresses the terms and conditions of the transaction, establishes your ownership of the trees, and delimits Geisha Gold's responsibilities of maintenance of the trees, managing of harvest and processing of the coffee.

How often do I receive my bags of coffee?

The period between coffee flowering, development of the beans and maturity -and then harvesting- takes about 5 months. During that period the coffee is to be harvested, processed and packed. Specific dates are not fixed as the whole process depends on nature, however, you will be receiving constant information about the status of your harvest, production and the shipping of your coffee bags.
